Jury: Drawn from the Scandinavian roots of northern Minnesota, the housing development is assembled as a village with conversation between houses, and serves as a model for other developers. Houses are set directly on the prairie, rather than merging with it, so that the two co-habit in a delicate balance. Details such as asymmetric gable roofs, and cut-outs in facades, are playful and inventive.
